How you organize your study material is called executive functioning. Executive functioning is how you organize and retrieve the materials you need for studying.
Here’s an example: You take notes for studying. How do you file them and find them again when you need them for when you’re ready to study from your notes?
Remember when you were in school and you had to keep a binder to show the teacher all of your work for that class? Yeah-that doesn’t work for most people.
When you learn your learning style, you’ll be taught how to organize your study material according to how you learn. If you’re visual, auditory or kinesthetic, you’ll learn strategies that will help you organize and retrieve your study materials in a way that makes sense for you.
